After teasing the next entry in the Darksiders franchise last month, THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have announced another Darksiders title that they’ve been working on: a remastered and enhanced version of Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition, which is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on October 15th. If you already own Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition on PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One, you will receive a free upgrade to the current-gen version for your system when the game launches.
This upgraded edition of Deathinitive Edition brings 4K resolution, ray tracing, and enhanced lighting and shadows to harness the power of current-gen consoles. The game’s loading times have been drastically improved thanks to SSD technology, ensuring a smoother overall experience. And for PlayStation 5 owners with a DualSense controller, you’ll also get to experience the full impact of haptic feedback, adding extra depth and immersion.
Pre-order on PlayStation 5 by October 14th and you’ll receive a 50% pre-order discount. For Xbox One owners, there’s a 50% discount on the game for Xbox One running until October 14th. Afterward, your purchase will automatically unlock the new features of the Xbox Series version via Smart Delivery.
Just in case you don’t recall what’s included in the Deathinitive Edition of Darksiders II, you get the base game, with all DLC included and integrated into the game, offering a total playtime of more than 30 hours. There’s also reworked and tuned game balancing and loot distribution, as well as improved and reworked level, character and environment graphics.
Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition is also available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch.
