Stephen King Wants to Write a Novel About Jason Voorhees

August 7, 2020 1:31 pm By

Is it possible Jason Voorhees was born in Castle Rock? One dude who would surely know would be Stephen King. Over the weekend, King posted a beyond exciting Tweet that stated that the horror writer has long been thinking of a story that would focus on Camp Blood’s famous slasher.

The story which King calls, “The best novel idea I never wrote…” would focus on Jason Voorhees and his existential existence that performs in a cycle of being killed continuously.

“The best novel idea I never wrote (and probably never will) is I JASON, the first-person narrative of Jason Voohees, and his hellish fate: killed over and over again at Camp Crystal Lake. What a hellish, existential fate!” King Tweeted.

The possibilities for that story are endless and beyond exciting for Stephen King fans and Friday the 13th fans a like. Getting inside Jason’s head would be an entirely fresh take on anything we have seen from the series. Sadly, and most likely we will never get to read Stephen King’s take on Voorhees. The rights concerning the house of Friday the 13th are nightmarish to navigate and constantly end in disappointing results. But, we can still hold out hope, right?
