Parishioners attending a mass in the Philippines were awestruck when they noticed a formation in the sky that some believe bore an uncanny resemblance to the Virgin Mary carrying the baby Jesus. The remarkable moment reportedly occurred last week as throngs of people were gathered in front of the Manila Cathedral to commemorate the holy day known as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Under normal circumstances, the faithful would have been inside the building, but restrictions brought about by the coronavirus forced them to take part in the services outside, which may have lent some additional meaning to what many perceived to be a message appearing in the sky.
As the mass unfolded, onlookers were amazed to see a curious shape that resembled a pregnant Virgin Mary emerge in the clouds over the church. Footage of the potentially miraculous moment soon found its way onto social media where it amassed tens-of-thousands of views. While skeptical observers will undoubtedly declare that the odd formation was merely a product of pareidolia, the nature of the event and the anomaly itself have left many convinced that it was some kind of sign ‘from above.’ With that in mind, what’s your take on the peculiar footage?
