“Lovecraft Country” Creator Misha Green Will Write and Direct the ‘Tomb Raider’ Sequel

Fresh off HBO’s “Lovecraft Country,” we’ve learned tonight (via THR) that Misha Green has been set to write and direct the Tomb Raider feature film sequel for MGM.

Green developed, wrote, directed and executive produced “Lovecraft Country” for HBO. She had previously written episodes of “Sons of Anarchy” and created “Underground.”

Tomb Raider 2 will be Green’s feature directorial debut.

Alicia Vikander will be reprising the role of Lara Croft in the sequel to the 2018 film.

Ben Wheatley (Kill List, Sightseers, High-Rise) had previously been set to direct.
