‘Disappointment Blvd’: Joaquin Phoenix Set to Star in Ari Aster’s Next Movie for A24

It’s hard to tell if it’s a genre movie at this time, but Deadline reports that Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) has set up his next project, which will reunite the filmmaker with A24.

The film is titled Disappointment Blvd., and Joaquin Phoenix is attached to star.

Deadline’s report notes that the film is being described as “an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.” It certainly doesn’t sound like a horror movie on paper, but additional plot details are unknown at this time.

A24 will produce and finance the film, penned by Aster.

Aster had teased last year that his next movie would be a “nightmare comedy,” you may recall, but it’s possible he was referring to an entirely different project from Disappointment Blvd.
