Phoebe Bridgers Enlists Jackson Browne for New Version of ‘Kyoto’, Shares Cover of John Prine’s ‘Summer’s End’

Phoebe Bridgers has shared two new tracks as part of the Spotify Singles series. The first offering is a new version of Punisher single ‘Kyoto’ featuring Jackson Browne on backing vocals; the second is a cover of John Prine’s ‘Summer’s End’, where she’s joined by Maria Taylor. Listen to both songs below.

This is not the first time Bridgers and Browne have collaborated; the pair teamed up for a cover of ‘Christmas Song’ in 2018 and recently sang ‘Kyoto’ at the 2021 Tibet House US Benefit Concert. Last year, Bridgers also shared a solo acoustic rendition of ‘Summer’s End’ for Sirius XMU.

Phoebe Bridgers is nominated for four Grammys this year, including Best New Artist, Best Alternative Album (for Punisher), and Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance (both for ‘Kyoto’). The awards ceremony takes place this Sunday, March 14 at 8 pm EST.
