Thom Yorke Remixes ‘Creep’ for Jun Takahashi’s Fall 2021 Collection

Japanese fashion designer Jun Takahashi showcased his Undercover Fall 2021 collection, titled ‘Creep Very’, on the runway at Tokyo Fashion Week. Fittingly, a spare, slowed-down acoustic version of Radiohead‘s ‘Creep’, mixed by Thom Yorke himself, partly soundtracked the show, as Pitchfork points out. You can watch it here beginning around the 7:30 mark or listen to the remix below.

“The theme is of a person who is frail and weak but has a truly pure heart,” Takahashi said about the collection. “I was expressing the worries and anxieties that individuals carry every day and the hope of what lies ahead. It probably doesn’t seem to directly link to clothing design, but I wanted to put the complicated emotional state of society into a physical form. This is what I considered while designing.”

This is not the first time Yorke has scored a fashion show. Over the years, he’s contributed multiple songs to Rag & Bones runway shows, including ‘Twist’, which would later be included in his 2019 solo album ANIMA. In 2017, he collaborated with bandmate Jonny Greenwood to create an experimental Radiohead megamix for another one of Jun Takahashi’s Undercover shows at Paris Fashion Week.
