Lockdown Made Us Psychic! Women Who Experienced An ‘Awakening’ Of Spiritual Powers Share Their Stories – Daily Mail

Lockdown made us psychic! Women who experienced an ‘awakening’ of spiritual powers share their stories – including a mother and daughter who say they can read each other’s THOUGHTS

  • Three women reported an awakening of psychic powers over lockdown
  • One mother and daughter said they started reading each other’s thoughts
  • An Australian mindfulness coach said she experienced ‘lockdown telepathy’

The last 18 months has given us more time than ever alone with our thoughts and has led many to re-assess their relationship, job or living situation.

But these women claim to have experienced a rather more unusual change over lockdown: the awakening of psychic powers.

Three women around the world spoke to Take A Break Fate & Fortune magazine about their lockdown spiritual awakening, claiming the slower pace of life and ‘quieter’ mental space allowed them to connect with people on a ‘different level’.

Among them is a mother and daughter from London who not only started saying the same thing at the same time but also had the same dreams.

Sceptical about the spiritual? Here, in an extract shared exclusively with FEMAIL, the women share their stories of telepathy and energy reading…

‘I EXPERIENCED LOCKDOWN TELEPATHY’

Gift or coincidence? Liz O’Brien, a mindfulness coach, said she experienced ‘lockdown telepathy’ and would think about someone at the same time they were thinking about her

Liz O’Brien, a mindfulness coach based in Australia, experienced so many chance moments during the pandemic that she started blogging about ‘lockdown telepathy’ as she called it.

‘I would think of a client and they would ring me,’ she says. ‘I’d wonder were they thinking of me, which is why they’d popped into my mind or did something remind me of them and they’d picked up on that?

‘I noticed in lockdown it was happening to other people too so I decided to blog about it. That’s when lots of people started emailing saying “yes I’ve noticed that too”.’

Liz believes that when life slowed down during lockdown our minds became quieter places too. She says this gave us mental space to tune into ourselves, which strengthened our ability to tap into things like nature, our intuition and also other people.

‘We’re all picking up more information from our environment than the conscious mind is aware of,’ she says.

‘I TURNED TO TAROT CARDS’

Think you’re psychic? Clairvoyant reveals how to hone your powers

Clairvoyant medium to the stars Jayne Wallace said: ’The best place to start to develop your psychic power is to quiet the mind with breathing, and also practise using your intuition and gut as much as possible.

‘It’s also a really good idea to search online for your nearest Spiritualist church which will have online tutorials and can also introduce you to a development circle.’

Emily Thornton from Manchester says she experienced a spiritual awakening during lockdown which made her acutely more aware of the energy around her.

This led to her picking up tarot reading, which she turned into a business called Solar Sister Tarot.

Emily found that people who already had psychic traits were opening up more due to what she calls the ‘magnified atmosphere’ of lockdown.

She believes this also led to people, including herself, feeling heightened sensitivity in crowded spaces such as supermarkets.

‘I noticed at the beginning of my spiritual awakening that I was experiencing an increased amount of migraines with aura (a complaint which can cause flashes of light, blind spots and other vision changes) particularly in these kinds of situations,’ she says.

However, she adds that once she picked up tarot and started meditating these symptoms ‘completely disappeared’.

‘It started out being really funny, just saying the same things to each other at exactly the same moment then having a laughing fit,’ says Sue.

‘But by the end we were even having the same dreams. We recently both dreamt about a dome shaped house with three different mezzanine levels!’

Sue believes teens such as Xan are experiencing more of a psychic awakening than adults.

‘I think it’s because the separation anxiety has affected them more, especially as they weren’t able to go to school and see their friends for so long,’ she says.

‘Personally I think people are inherently telepathic but have been trained out of it over time, but it’s been proven that if you exercise your intuition it gets better. Maybe since lockdown we’re now evolving as a species into a more intuitive bunch.’
