British Soldiers Convinced Their Base is Haunted After Conducting a Drunken S̩ance РMysterious Universe

One night, some SAS troopers had a little too much to drink and decided that it would be a fun idea to conduct a séance at the base, but the repercussions of that event now have them scared. They now believe that the drunken séance has caused their HQ base in Hereford, England, to be haunted.

It was during a regimental dinner in the sergeants’ mess earlier this year when some soldiers decided to conduct the séance in order to contact the dead. Regimental dinners normally have some type of entertainment but that day there was nothing booked so one of the soldiers brought up the idea of conducting a séance for fun.

A member of the unit explained what happened, “Everyone had a few drinks and someone came up with the idea of a séance.” “One of the wives said that she had the ability to contact spirits and we all thought she was a bit barking.” “A lot of drink had been taken and so everyone was up for it. We sat in a circle, held hands and this woman began swaying and sort of groaning and then began speaking in a strange voice.” “There were some pretty tough guys in that room who had seen a lot of action, but a few were a bit nervous.” “Soldiers are a very superstitious lot and some of them now believe they have disturbed the dead and are being punished.”

Ever since the séance took place, the soldiers have experienced a lot of paranormal activity at the base that includes hearing unexplained creepy laughing sounds coming from an empty cupboard; lights flickering on and off; and taps that have inexplicably turned on. Some soldiers have been woken up by ghosts with one in particular who claimed that the spirit actually blew in his ear.

Others have seen ghostly apparitions such as one man who witnessed an older woman wearing a wedding dress who was walking down the corridor. In fact, the apparition looked so real that he attempted to stop her but she vanished into a locked store room.

But not all of the soldiers are convinced that there is paranormal activity at the base as some think that it is nothing more than a prank. However, for those who are convinced that the activity is real, they are left wondering what they can do to stop it. “Some people have suggested that we get the women back in to hold another séance and tell her that we are sorry if we disturbed any spirits,” the unit member said, adding, “Others have said it’s just a wind-up and somehow our arch enemies – the SBS – are involved.”

Whatever is going on at their base, I bet the soldiers won’t hold another drunken séance for a while.
