The Franchise is Reborn in ‘Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin’ on Paramount+ October 29th! [Trailer]

Paramount and Blumhouse’s upcoming new installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise will be going straight to Paramount+, with Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) writing the script and William Eubank (Underwater) directing. It’s titled Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, and we’ve learned today that it’s coming to Paramount+ on October 29!

“From Paramount Players, the new film will bring fans an unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise,” the press release sent over this afternoon teases.

This first teaser trailer indeed suggests a new form for the franchise, seeming to take the Paranormal Activity to some sort of cult/commune environment? We don’t have much to go on at this time as we haven’t even been supplied with a plot synopsis, but it looks like Next of Kin will be taking us out of the “found footage in a house” comfort zone of the series.

First look down below…

The film stars Emily Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert, and Henry Ayers-Brown.

Producers include Jason Blum and original Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli, and the film is executive produced by Christopher Landon, Steven Schneider, and Jenny Hinkey.

Christopher Landon is no stranger to the franchise, having written the second, third and fourth installments of the series, along with writing and directing PA: The Marked Ones.
