Hardy Cancels Two Concerts Over Panic Attacks: ‘It Has Taken Control’

“I need a moment to focus on me and to make myself better,” says the country star, who was involved in a tour bus accident last year

Hardy has canceled two upcoming concerts and postponed a third scheduled for this weekend. The “Truck Bed” country singer, currently on tour in support of his album The Mockingbird & The Crow, cited “serious anxiety” as the reason for the nixed shows. Hardy was involved in a tour bus accident in 2022 and says he’s still coping with the fallout.

“I need to be honest with everyone for a second. I’ve been dealing with some serious anxiety since the bus accident last year and over the last two weeks, it has taken control of my life,” he wrote on social media. “It’s cause me to suffer many panic attacks which have landed me in the hospital. I need a moment to focus on me and to make myself better for my wife, family and you, the fans.”

The three affected shows include a stop this Thursday in Simpsonville, South Carolina; an Oct. 6 date at the Georgia Rodeo in Athens, Georgia; and an Oct. 7 concert at the Brandon Amphitheater in Brandon, Mississippi. Refunds will be available for the canceled South Carolina and Mississippi shows; the Georgia Rodeo appearance has been rescheduled for April 12, 2024 (tickets for the postponed show will be honored).

Hardy’s tour is now slated to resume on Thursday, Oct. 12, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. “My plan is to be back and focused on Oct. 12. Thank you for understanding, see you soon,” he wrote.

Hardy’s bus accident happened on I-40 West near Nashville last October following a performance at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. Hardy was one of four people aboard the bus when it overturned.
