‘Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater’ and the ‘Silent Hill 2’ Remake Confirmed for 2024 Releases [Trailer]

Sony and Konami are hitting the ground running for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and the Silent Hill 2. Sony has released a new trailer highlighting some of the titles coming to PlayStation this year, with both games shown, giving us the first release window for either game. Not only that, but on the Silent Hill 2 front, a new leak implies that the game’s development is nearing its conclusion.

The new trailer lists off 18 titles for release this year. Alongside both of Konami’s anticipated titles, the trailer also highlights The Last of Us Part II Remastered (January 19th), Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League (due out January 30th), Dragon’s Dogma 2 (March 22), and Supermassive and Behaviour Interactive’s The Casting of Frank Stone.

Meanwhile, noted leaker Dusk Golem is back with a new update for Silent Hill 2, citing a report from Bloober themselves stating that the team is moving their focus to their recently-announced project with Skybound Entertainment for the new year. In addition, the developer has secured funding for their work in Unreal 5 for the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, meeting the conditions tied to them for successfully reaching their goals for project use in Unreal 5.

What that means for Silent Hill 2 is that the game is “basically feature complete and just in its polishing phase”. None of this has been confirmed by Bloober, however. According to Dusk Golem, most of the Bloober employees have been moved on to other projects, leaving a skeleton crew to focus on polish, bugs, and playtesting.

However, as Bloober Team cited last year, it’s entirely up to Konami to comment on any sort of update on the game’s eventual release.

Silent Hill 2 is currently in development for PC via Steam and the PlayStation 5, with a release on the Xbox Series at a later date.
