The untitled reteam between filmmaker Ryan Coogler and actor Michael B. Jordan is hitting theaters on March 7, 2025.
Warner Bros always had this date on reserve for an event movie. The only other title opening on the weekend next year so far is an untitled Disney movie.
Coogler is writing the movie, which has a plot that’s under wraps. Cameras are rolling in April.
Coogler is producing with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.
The executive producers are two-time Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Goransson, Rebecca Cho and Will Greenfield.
Goransson just took home his second original score Oscar (after Coogler’s Black Panther) for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
Deadline first told you about the latest Coogler and Jordan project, which Warners won in a heated bidding war.
Coogler and Jordan began their collaboration on Fruitvale Station and continued through to Creed and Marvel’s Black Panther. The project also marks the second of Coogler and Jordan’s that Warner Bros Film Group co-chairs and CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy have championed, following their greenlight of Creed III during their time at MGM.
