Trailer: Walt Disney Studios Upcoming Biographical Drama ‘Young Woman And The Sea’

Walt Disney Studios has released the trailer for Young Woman and the Sea, its upcoming biographical drama starring Daisy Ridley. In the movie Ridley portrays a young swimmer who defied the odds by becoming the first woman to swim across the English Channel. It’s due to arrive in cinemas on May 31.

“The film centers around an accomplished swimmer who was born to immigrant parents in New York City in 1905,” reads the synopsis. “Through the steadfast support of her older sister and supportive trainers, she overcame adversity and the animosity of a patriarchal society to rise through the ranks of the Olympic swimming team and complete the staggering achievement – a 21-mile trek from France to England.”
