Studiocanal has dropped the first trailer for The Outrun. Based on the best-selling novel by Amy Liptrot, it’s led by Saoirse Ronan as Rona, a woman out of rehab for alcoholism who travels to the Orkney Islands. The trip becomes a trip of self discovery as she battles her addiction.
“After more than a decade of living life on the edge in London, where she both found and lost love, Rona – now 30 – attempts to come to terms with her troubled past,” the official synopsis reads. “As she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up, memories of her traumatic childhood merge with more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery.”
