Trisha Yearwood’s House Sells 1 Day Before Brooks Assault Suit

Trisha Yearwood had been trying to sell her Tennessee manor — the historic home where she filmed Trisha’s Southern Kitchen for 11 years — and she finally did. The Brentwood, Tenn., house sold one day before a lawsuit was filed accusing her husband Garth Brooks of sexual assault and rape.

Realtor.com notes that the house sold for $3.34 million. Yearwood had initially listed the property for sale in 2023 for $4.5 million, before pulling it from the market and dropping the price earlier this year.

She’d owned the 5-bedroom-7-bathroom, 6,553-square-foot estate since 2000. Yearwood filmed more than 100 episodes of her cooking show in its kitchen, which boasts Wolf appliances, including a double-oven, six-burner cooktop, a warming drawer, a 30-inch gourmet microwave and a subzero refrigerator.

Per Realtor.com, the house sold on Wednesday (Oct. 2).

What Is Garth Brooks Accused Of?

On Thursday (Oct. 3), a lawsuit was filed by “Jane Roe” in California accusing Garth Brooks of sexual assault and battery. Roe — a former makeup and hair artist for both Brooks and Yearwood — says she was the victim of many unwanted sexual advances and fondlings by Brooks, and in 2019, she says the country star forced penetration on her in a hotel room.

In September, before her lawsuit was made public, Brooks’ legal team filed a motion to proceed pseudonymously in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi Northern Division (Roe lives in Mississippi).

The country star hoped to stop Roe from filing, or to proceed under “John Doe” and “Jane Doe” pseudonyms. Brooks says his goal was “to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.”

“I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be,” Brooks further notes in a statement to media.

See Inside Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s Malibu Beach House:

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood‘s former beachside house in Malibu offered a gorgeous vacation paradise for the country music power couple to relax.

Brooks and Yearwood bought their 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom, 4,200-square-foot house in Malibu for slightly less than $5 million in June of 2008. The house itself is fairly modest, but very well-appointed, featuring an open floor plan.

The living room boasts a corner fireplace and multiple sets of French doors that open to the backyard. The kitchen includes marble countertops, while skylights offer plenty of natural California sunlight. The den features floor-to-ceiling bookshelves on either side of a fireplace of white brick.

The backyard is spectacular, featuring a loggia, an outdoor fireplace, a half-court basketball court and elaborate landscaping. The house provides direct access to the world-famous Malibu beach via a set of steps.

The couple sold the house in Malibu in late 2016 for $7 million.
