‘Terrifier 3’ – Christian Group Protests “Satanic Santa” in Front of Kansas City Movie Theater

Hand to god, I swear this is not a stunt.

Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 is on its way to becoming the #1 film in the country and along the way it has been the center of several major stories, including being banned to minors in France, having two people pass out in Australia, and one person vomiting at the UK premiere.

The real badge of honor is when religious groups find you to be such a threat that they take time out of their day to protest, and it hasn’t taken them long to come after Terrifier 3.

David Howard Thornton, who plays Art the Clown in the Terrifier films (including an all-timer horror villain performance in Terrifier 3), shared on his Instagram the above photo taken by his cousin outside of the B&B Theatres Mainstreet KC at The Power & Light District in Kansas City, MO, posted with a simple caption that says it all: “We’re doing something right!”

Actor Devon Sawa tweeted a similar sentiment in response to the post, writing: “A sure sign a movie is probably really good is if there’s people protesting outside the theater it’s playing at.”

It was almost exactly 40 years ago that Silent Night, Deadly Night‘s killer Santa spawned similar protests, which at the time resulted in the 1984 classic being pulled from theaters. But have no fear, cause Bloody Disgusting has zero plans on doing the same. It’s a different time, we’re a different company, and this UNRATED slasher shocker isn’t going anywhere.

In fact, Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse are bringing Terrifier 3 to even more screens beginning today, with the total theater count hitting 2,514 locations across the U.S. and Canada.

In Terrifier 3, directed once again by Damien Leone (Terrifier, Terrifier 2), Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) is set to unleash another round of chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.

“After surviving Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre, Sienna and her brother are struggling to rebuild their shattered lives. As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind. But just when they think they’re safe, Art the Clown returns, determined to turn their holiday cheer into a new nightmare.

“The festive season quickly unravels as Art unleashes his twisted brand of terror, proving that no holiday is safe.”

Returning cast includes Lauren LaVera (Sienna), Samantha Scaffidi (Victoria Heyes), Elliot Fullam (Jonathan Shaw) and AEW superstar Chris Jericho (Burke), with Daniel Roebuck set to debut as Santa Claus. Makeup effects legend Tom Savini, Jason Patric, Antonella Rose, Krsy Fox, Clint Howard, and Jon Abrahams also appear.
