‘Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP’ Arrives on PS4, Xbox One in Japan on December 2

Despite Dragami Games president Yoshimi Yasuda announcing last month that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP would be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners this month, that’s unfortunately no longer the case. However, the shifted release date now makes it an excuse to add it to your Christmas wishlist.

Dragami Games has now announced that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will instead be releasing on the PS4 and Xbox One on December 2. In addition, the developer has announced that the popular “Pin-up Girl Outfit” from the original version of the game will be making a comeback and be added to the lineup as a new outfit for both current and last-gen versions of the game.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox Series on September 12, and includes new quality-of-life improvements and additional gameplay content in addition to maintaining the story of the original game.

That additional content includes the new RePOP mode that uses “a unique and colorful pop art-inspired art style for damage effects,” new chainsaws with “distinctly different features” in the game, 30 costumes with 4 new hair colors and 4 new chainsaws, a new Time Attack mode, and Juliet’s Room has been expanded with more features.

The story for Lollipop Chainsaw (just in case you’ve never played this cult classic) centers around Juliet Starling, a student at San Romero High School, who passionately loves cheerleading. Unbeknownst to most, however, her family has been a lineage of zombie hunters, guiding the undead to beyond since ancient times. On Juliet’s birthday, she heads to school to meet her boyfriend, but as she pedals her bicycle into the school grounds, she is greeted by the sight of her former schoolmates, who have all been turned into zombies.
