Horror Visual Novel ‘Slay The Princess’ Marks 500,000 Copies Sold Milestone

Last month’s release of Slay The Princess: The Pristine Cut certainly boosted Black Tabby Games’ horror visual novel. The developer has announced that the game has now sold 500,000 copies across PC on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The milestone elicited a “holy sh*t” from Abby Howard, Black Tabby Games co-founder.

“We’ve poured our souls into this game over the past couple of years, and it’s been profoundly moving to see so many people connect with such an esoteric work,” said Tony Howard-Arias, Black Tabby Games’ other co-founder. “We’re so happy that the fans gave us the support we needed to revisit the game and elevate it into something even better than it was at launch. All of these finishing touches have gone a long way.”

If you haven’t checked out Slay The Princess yet, the game is from the creators of Scarlet Hollow. Slay the Princess sees you on a path in the woods, and at the end of that path is a cabin. And in the basement of that cabin is a Princess. You’re here to slay her. If you don’t, it will be the end of the world. She will do everything in her power to stop you. She’ll charm, and she’ll lie and she’ll promise you the world, and if you let her, she’ll kill you a dozen times over. You can’t let that happen.

Along with the digital editions for PC and consoles, there will be physical editions (a Standard and Collector’s) available for purchase next year. Physical editions will be available at major retailers and on the Serenity Forge store for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, with pre-orders open now.
