Zach Bryan Gets Hit by Flying Object at Portland Concert

Zach Bryan was hit by a projectile during his concert in Portland, Oregon, Wednesday night, the latest incident in a disturbing trend of fans throwing things at performers.

Bryan was playing his song “Tourniquet” when a cylindrical object hit his right leg, according to the TMZ-obtained video. Bryan stopped performing and walked away from the microphone before picking up the item and asking the crowd, “Alright, who threw it?”

The music then stopped as Bryan declared: “Let’s not be dicks, huh. Y’all stopping concerts?” Bryan threw the object back in the crowd and continued his performance without further disturbances.

This is the second time in just days that someone has been hit onstage during one of Bryan’s concerts. During his performance at the Tacoma Dome in Washington on Nov. 23, Bryan stopped the show after his guitarist was hit by something that was hurled toward the stage. “Don’t throw shit at concerts, huh,” Bryan declared onstage.

Bryan has faced more than flying objects of late. Following his split from BFFs podcaster Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, she accused the country singer of emotional abuse and alleged that he offered her $12 million to sign a nondisclosure agreement. She described alleged incidents where she was verbally berated, and claimed Bryan was often drunk, belligerent, and destructive.

As for bad behavior by fans, concert etiquette has been an issue since live shows returned following the Covid-19 pandemic. Last summer, Bebe Rexha was hit in the face with a cell phone, someone threw their mother’s ashes on stage during one of Pink’s sets, and then Kelsea Ballerini was pelted with a bracelet

“I don’t know why this is, like, new. People just get excited and it can be dangerous,” Billie Eilish told The Hollywood Reporter last summer. “I have mixed feelings about it, because when you’re up there it blows. But you know it’s out of love and they’re just trying to give you something.”

Adele had a more direct warning (or threat?): “Dare you to throw something at me and I’ll fucking kill you.”
