Sony is going one week earlier with the Keke Palmer and SZA R-rated comedy, One of Them Days, unspooling the title on the 4-day MLK weekend which kicks off Jan. 17, 2025.
Pic’s new spot will take advantage of 95% colleges on break on Monday. There are also no comedies dated this holiday season, so that’s a plus. One of Them Days will go up against Universal/Blumhouse’s Wolfman and Paramount’s expansion of September 5.
The Lawrence Lamont directed movie follows best friends and roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) who are about to have One of Them Days. When they discover Alyssa’s boyfriend (Joshua David Neal) has blown their rent money, the duo finds themselves going to extremes in a comical race against the clock to avoid eviction and keep their friendship intact.
One of Them Days was written by Syreeta Singleton. Producers are Issa Rae, Deniese Davis, Sara Rastogi, James Lopez and Poppy Hanks. EPs are Palmer, Sharon Palmer, Jeff Valeri and Charles D. King.
