Hristina Noland Hrisohou, born in Heidelberg, Germany to academic parents, pursued her acting studies at the esteemed Rose Bruford College. Since then, she has consistently taken on leading roles in international feature films, spanning genres from drama and comedy to thrillers, science fiction, and psychological horror.
Her acting credits include “Adults in the Room” by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Costa Gavras, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year and was distributed by Wild Bunch. She also starred in Pantelis Voulgaris’ critically acclaimed period feature “Psyhi Vathia – With Heart and Soul,” available on Apple TV and distributed by Amazon, as well as the lead role in Henrik Norrthon’s “Taximan,” which won a Crystal Bear. Additionally, she has featured in independent award-winning “Final Pay Off,” several well-received Hellenic TV series, and performed in “The Style” at The Actors’ Gang Theatre, directed by Academy Award winner Tim Robbins.
Hristina’s deep passion for cinema and storytelling has led her to step both in front of and behind the camera, culminating in her directorial debut with the artistic feature film “Ithaca,” which is currently in post-production.
Her diverse work includes casting for international mainstream TV series, independent boutique short films, and roles within the PR department of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. She has also worked as a whimsical attorney and won first prize in a playwriting competition in her earlier adult years.
Since 2015, Hristina has been an acting tutor specializing in British acting techniques and serves as the executive director of the non-profit educational organization International Casting Directors in Athens. She is also affiliated with NolandFilm. The ICDA’s guest lecturers have included a varied group of casting directors, such as Manuel Puro of Guillermo del Toro’s “Hellboy,” talent managers, screenwriters, and producers.
