Julia Michaels & Maren Morris Team Up To Cut An Ex Out Of Their Lives with ‘Scissors’

Julia Michaels is back in 2025 with a new single titled Scissors, a collaboration with her friend Maren Morris.

“I’ve had ‘Scissors’ written down in my Notes in my phone — I just thought it’d be a funny way of saying I’m unbothered,” Julia tells ABC Audio. “You know, just being like, ‘Hey, I’m actually not as sensitive as you might think I am. If you want to stay, cool. If not, I’m not going to cry.’”

In the music video, Julia and Maren play neighbors who come to the realization that they are being two timed by the same man.

“She sees that I find this lock of hair in my man’s car that I have just [bought] him,” Julia says. “And she is, like, essentially, ‘Oh hell no.’ And then we tag team and make this man’s life a living hell.”
