New Year, New Energy For Zoe Wees On New Single ‘TRAITOR’

Today, the energy is very much “new year, new Zoe Wees.” The German star returns for the first time since 2023 with a banging new sound on new track “Traitor.”  The impressive song sees Wees seize an opportunity to speak-up about prioritising self-appreciation with a healthy dose of honesty delivered by her otherworldly vocal.

Speaking about the song, Wees explains in full, total honesty “Traitor’s is about being fearless. We all deserve to be appreciated on a human level, and if the only way to achieve that is by cutting out that negativity then that’s the way to go. I hope this song gives the people that feel the same way the power to filter those people out of your life and find their own equilibrium again.”

After some time out, Zoe has plans to release a lot of new music in 2025. On comparing this next set of songs from the last, she said  “I’m growing and changing and getting older. It definitely helped to heal me; I can finally talk about all these things in my story without crying! I really needed that album for this next chapter.”

Breakout star Zoe Wees has been a revelation in her first few years as an artist. Her debut song “Control” immediately hit home amongst her dedicated fanbase who have now collectively streamed it more than 3 billion times. Her debut EP “Golden Wings” that followed only cemented her as one of the most important new artists to emerge globally with a long list of Gold and Platinum accreditation statuses picked-up in the build-up to its release in more than 20 countries.  Her debut album “Therapy” was new for Wees, picking-up widespread media support along the way that included powerfully emotive performances on the likes of American Music Awards, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, write-ups on the likes of The New York Times & the Guardian. Wees has also collaborated with peers like 6LACK, Kygo and Jax Jones to name just a few.

Still only 22-year-old, Wees is only getting started and today’s release of Traitor is very much just the start of a phase 2. As 2025 begins, she may experiment with her sound like she has today, but you can expect the same heart-on-the-sleeve lyricism as an unnegotiable with a voice that has demanded attention from the first moment as an artist.
