The summer event will also feature Sierra Ferrell, Dwight Yoakam, Koe Wetzel, Cody Jinks, and more
Kentucky country artists Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson will headline the Oregon-based FairWell Festival. More than 30 artists will descend on Redmond for the two-day music event, including Sierra Ferrell, Dwight Yoakam, Koe Wetzel, Cody Jinks, Flatland Cavalry, Ludacris, Tanya Tucker, Treaty Oak Revival, Wyatt Flores, and Charles Wesley Godwin.
The festival takes place on July 18 and July 19. Presale tickets are available, with general sale tickets available on Friday at 10 a.m. PT.
Featured on Rolling Stone’s 2023 Best Country and Americana Albums list, Childers’ Rustin in the Rain includes seven originals and covers from the likes of S.G. Goodman and Kris Kristofferson. Childers, known for his contemporary rural life storytelling, infuses his personal beliefs into his country tunes: his blue grass album Long Violent History tackled racial injustice; his triple album, Can I Take My Hounds To Heaven?, with his band the Food Stamps unraveled religious intolerance and devout fellowship; and a music video to Rustin’ in the Rain‘s “In Your Love” chronicled a queer romance between two coalminers.
Childers performed on festival stages across the country in 2024, headlining Boston Calling in May, the Milwaukee-bound Summerfest in June, the Louisville-grown festival Bourbon & Beyond in September, and the Maryland-based Country Calling in October. The following month, Childers announced his 27-date On the Road tour. The trek, which begins in New Orleans in April, will feature special guests like Wynonna Judd, Charley Crockett, Robert Earl Keen, and the Hold Steady.
Simpson released his latest album Passage Du Desir in July, his first in three years. The eight-track record marks Simpson’s return to the metamodern country that made him a Nashville outsider in the 2010s. He plans to headline the Texas festival Two Step Inn and Bourbon & Beyond later this year.
