Frédéric Demeuse is a naturalist and ornithologist by training. He lives and works in Brussels. As a naturalist and visual storyteller, he is both a witness and interpreter of all the diversity of this precious and unique planet we all share. Author of several books, his work has won awards in the most prestigious international competitions as a first prize at the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year. His work often appears in Belgium, France and abroad.
Demeuse’s series Timeless series aims to show images of the beauty and uniqueness of natural, primary and well-preserved forests to bring serenity to the viewers. Images from this collection are part of a 15-year-old project that demonstrates forest ecosystems worldwide.
Talking about this project, Demeuse stated, “My goal is to explore and document them to bear witness to their specificity and the extraordinary aesthetic beauty that emerges from these precious, rare, and more than ever under pressured places. To explore them with a camera mounted on a sturdy tripod is one of the most powerful, significant and deeply meditative experiences that I have had the privilege to live. These forgotten places feel my dreams, my heart and my soul.”
