Delroy Lindo is the Latest to Join Legendary’s ‘Godzilla x Kong’ Sequel

Delroy Lindo may be battling with vampires this April in Sinners, but the veteran actor is already gearing up to take on Titans in Legendary’s MonsterVerse. Lindo has officially signed on to the newest Godzilla x King sequel.

Warner Bros. will release the new Monsterverse movie in theaters on March 26, 2027.

Lindo joins the previously announced Kaitlyn Dever (No One Will Save You), Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake300: Rise of an Empire), and Dan Stevens, who will reprise his role as kaiju expert  Trapper from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Naturally, plot details on the latest MonsterVerse entry are scarce, but it’s said to follow “several new human characters alongside the beloved and iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.”

THR sources reveal that Lindo “will play Dever’s boss at Monarch, the shady scientific organization that sometimes helps, sometimes hunts the titanic creatures.” O’Connell is playing the brother of Dever’s character; the actor will also next be seen with Lindo in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners

This casting news might come as a balm to those once looking forward to Lindo’s appearance in Marvel Studio’s Blade reboot; much of the cast attached to the beleaguered project was let go last year as setbacks continue.

The follow-up to last year’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will be directed by franchise newcomer Grant Sputore (I Am Mother). Dave Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) wrote the new movie.

Legendary’s MonsterVerse now spans five installments so far, over a decade now, with last year’s Godzilla x Kong being the biggest box office hit that grossed over $571 million worldwide. The MonsterVerse also spun off the Apple TV+ Original Series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” which is gearing up to deliver season two.

With the cast continuing to grow on this sequel, stay tuned.
