Woman Snaps Photo of a Ghost Sitting on a Park Bench in Singapore – Mysterious Universe

A woman was out running at 9:40pm on June 6th in Singapore’s Pasir Ris Park when she encountered a ghostly woman sitting by herself on a bench. The runner, whose name is Nur Umairah, was so surprised at seeing the entity that she took a picture of it.

In an interview with Mothership, Umairah explained that nobody else was in the area when she encountered the female spirit. At first she thought that the apparition was a real person but that quickly changed when she started watching the figure. She said, “Why was there a woman just sitting by herself? She was just staring at the sea. That area was very dark. Very dark. And no one else was around.”

After she took the picture, she continued on with her run, but soon heard a disembodied voice calling out her name. “I had goosebumps and the hair at the back of my neck stood… I know it wasn’t a human because there was no one else around,” she explained.

When she zoomed in on the photo, she noticed that the figure didn’t have any legs. At that point, she decided to share the photo and her experience online. She has received numerous messages from people who have claimed to have seen another figure in the photo and others have provided their theories on why the mysterious figure didn’t have any legs, like she may have been sitting cross-legged on the bench.

The photo of the alleged ghostly woman can be seen here.

It’s not surprising that Umairah claimed to have seen a ghost at Pasir Ris Park as the area is said to be quite haunted and a lot of runners avoid the location. According to old legends, a young girl was confronted by a ghost and then mysteriously fell out of a three-story bird-watching tower that’s been nicknamed “Suicide Tower”. It’s been said that she was pushed off the tower by an unseen entity and ever since her tragic death, people in the area have seen the girl’s ghost sitting at the top of the tower with her legs dangling over the edge.

And if that’s not creepy enough, the park is close to a swamp area called Sungei Api Api (or Fire Lake) that is rumored to be haunted by Pontianaks (female vampires), specifically near the beach where there are lots of thick trees and numerous shadow figures have been seen. Rumor has it that if you smell flowers in the air and hear a female laughing, you better get out of there as quickly as you can.
