Watch Brandi Carlile Perform ‘Broken Horses’ and ‘Right on Time’ in ‘SNL’ Debut

Brandi Carlile made her debut as musical guest on Saturday Night Live last night (October 23). The Grammy-winning country singer played two tracks from her latest album In These Silent Days, ‘Broken Horses’ and ‘Right on Time’. Watch her performance below.

Ahead of her performance, Carlile spoke with Vanity Fair about her desire to play on the show. “Every time an album comes out and I don’t get to do Saturday Night Live, I’m always so sad,” she said. “But here I am, right? And I can’t imagine a better time to play it. I feel really, really ready. I feel like I have the right songs, the right amount of confidence, the right amount of chill, like I can do this without freaking out and screwing it up, like I would’ve in my twenties.”

In These Silent Days, Carlile’s seventh album and the follow-up to 2018’s By the Way, I Forgive You, arrived on October 1. Her first memoir, titled Broken Days, was published last spring.
