Cheer, the Emmy-winning breakout series, returns to Netflix on January 12th. With the start of Season 2 and Navarro Cheer’s newfound fame, the team finds no amount of press coverage could prepare them for the challenges they will face when COVID-19 stirs up the 2020 cheer season and a serious criminal accusation is leveled at one of their teammates. Amidst that dramatic backdrop, the 9-episode season highlights Navarro’s fiercest rival: Trinity Valley Community College. As with the Navarro team, TVCC has a charismatic coach and breakout stars whose struggles, triumphs, and stories transcend the mat. As both teams compete for the 2021 championship in Daytona, familiar faces take exciting detours and new contenders emerge.
