Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and Director Paul Feig Returning For ‘A Simple Favor’ Sequel

Lionsgate and Amazon Studios have officially announced that Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and director Paul Feig are returning for a sequel to their smash hit 2018 mystery comedy film ‘A Simple Favor’. Based on the 2017 novel of the same name, the first film followed a single mother with a parenting vlog who befriends a secretive upper-class woman who has a child at the same elementary school. When Emily goes missing, Stephanie takes it upon herself to investigate.

‘A Simple Favor’ earned more than $97 million at the worldwide box office, which became a large commercial success for Lionsgate. The ending of the first left the door open for a potential sequel. There’s currently no word on the story or casting but we do know Feig will direct the sequel and produce alongside Laura Fischer. Jessica Sharzer will write the screenplay and executive produce.
