Marvel Studios ‘Thunderbolts’ Movie Finds It’s Writer and Director

Deadline has reported that Marvel Studios’ has found it’s writer and director for it’s upcoming ‘Thunderbolts’ film. In reports Jake Schreier has been tapped to direct, with Black Widow screenwriter Eric Pearson also attached to write the script.

Not much is known about the plot of film other than it revolves around a group of villains who are sent on missions commissioned by the government. The characters rumored to be part of the film are Baron Zemo, Yelena Belova, Ghost, Taskmaster, The Abomination, US Agent and the Winter Soldier.

The Thunderbolts first made their comics debut in 1997. They began as a crew of supervillains founded by Baron Zemo who disguised themselves as heroes after the Avengers were killed. Later on, the team was mostly made up of reformed villains seeking redemption, much like DC’s Suicide Squad.

Filming is rumored to begin in Summer for release in 2024.
