Lashana Lynch and Eddie Redmayne Join Peacock’s ‘The Day of the Jackal’ Series

Variety reports that Lashana Lynch has officially signed on to join Peacock’s upcoming series adaption ‘The Day of the Jackal’, with production beginning this year. Lynch is set to portray the role of Bianca, a tenacious law enforcement agent who’s determined to catch the assassin named The Jackal, who will be played by Eddie Redmayne.

“The series is a bold, modern reimagining of the beloved and respected novel and film,” reads the logline. “While staying true to the DNA of the original story, this contemporary drama will delve deeper into the chameleon-like ‘anti-hero’ at the heart of the story in a high octane, cinematic, globetrotting ‘cat and mouse’ thriller, set amidst the turbulent geo-political landscape of our time.”

The series will be written by Ronan Bennett, who is behind the popular Netflix series ‘Top Boy’, and Redmayne will be serving as executive producer.
