Watch Spotlight: BEHRENS Constell

In the watch industry, there is a desire for excitement, premium quality, and individualism. Only a few companies can address all three needs. Fortunately, BEHRENS, the Chinese luxury watch brand that worked with the likes of Chaykin, can. In this Watch Spotlight, we’ll focus on their watch Constell, a stylish and intriguing piece that is inspired by the “twenty-eight constellations” of traditional Chinese culture.

Design

The core of Constell is within its dial, inspired by the lunar crater. Its circular shapes that reflect a modern aesthetic, space, and technology give the dial prominence with its elaborate look. It certainly isn’t for the shy. It’s a conversation starter.

The exquisite case of the watch is complemented by a black crocodile skin strap that helps form an appealing contrast between the modern dial and the traditional strap. Yet, the essential feature that pulls you in is the lunation moon phase system, which has an accuracy of 29.5 days.

The case diameter measures 42mm, making it suitable for bold outfits and any wrist looking for a prominent piece of accessory. The sapphire crystal makes it ideal for daily wear.

Movement

As a brand should, BEHRENS disclose the movements they use. For this timepiece, they utilise a Miyota 9015, a high-end automatic movement with a power reserve of around 42 hours. Here are some more specifications on the movement.

 Accuracy  ー10~+30 sec/day
 Posture Difference  under 30 sec
 Running Time  42 hours
 Vibration Frequency  28800 per hour
 Jewels  24 pcs
 Lift Angle  51 degree

Conclusion

The lines between high-end and reasonable are more blurred than ever, and many watch brands have trouble figuring out where they stand within the industry. However, BEHRENS is confident in its mission, especially with timepieces like Constell. Priced at $2,650.00, you’re getting a lot for your buck and a great conversation piece.
