Where Will Our Leftovers Go? Tupperware Files for Bankruptcy

Most of us probably have some sort of memory of our parents hosting a Tupperware sales party in our living room while we had to stay in our bedroom and hide.

The company has been a household name since its creation in the 1940s.

But now that might all be about to change.

Where Will Our Leftovers go? Tupperware Files for Bankruptcy

An outdated business model has led to declining sales for the leading brand that’s been a staple in American households for almost 100 years.

In a press release on Tuesday (Sept. 17), Tupperware announced that the company is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Before you run to the store to stock up, the company is trying to find a way to keep running during the bankruptcy.

Tupperware says it has been working to modernize its operations within the last year and become a digital-first company.

Hold off on breaking this news to mom and grandma; you don’t want to devastate them, because we’re not sure of the end result yet.
