Valve Celebrates 20 Years of ‘Half-Life 2’ by Giving It Away for Free Until November 18 [Video]

A decade after the release of This War of Mine, and just like they did on the game’s fifth anniversary, 11 bit studios has announced a new DLC to mark the occasion with “Forget Celebrations”. But as the name of the DLC implies, the game’s mission to shed light on the civilian cost of war is far from over.

“Innocent lives are still being lost on battlefields, new conflicts are erupting, arms production escalates to feed war’s demand, and civilians and soldiers continue to face unimaginable brutality,” reads the press release from 11 bit studios. “With the world bleeding, we believe it is vital to keep pushing for change.”

While no release date has been announced for “Forget Celebrations” as of yet, All studio proceeds from the DLC’s sales will be donated to support 11 bit studios’ charity partners in this anniversary initiative: War Child, Amnesty International, Liberty Ukraine, and Indie Games Poland.

In this new story, players will return to war-torn Pogoren to follow the story of Katia, a seasoned war correspondent. While struggling to write a book on the brutal realities of war, a missile attack devastates her home, forcing her into an even harsher fight for survival and the recovery of her gathered material.

This War of Mine is available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.
