Sky Ferreira Shares New Single ‘Leash’

Skye Ferreira is back with a new single, ‘Leash’. Co-written with Jorge Elbrecht, the track is taken from the upcoming A24 film Babygirl. It marks the singer’s first new music since 2022’s ‘Don’t Forget’ as well as her first release since being dropped by Capitol in late 2023. Check it out below.

In a new interview with Vogue, Ferreira talked about how her “fraught” relationship with Capitol Records, saying “they waited until the 10-year anniversary of Night Time, My Time to drop me via an automated message that got forwarded to me.” She also discussed recording ‘Leash’ for Babygirl. “[Nicole Kidman’s] character is very self-destructive and destructive with other people’s lives, but she kinda has to go through this whole experience for the sake of growing as a person,” Ferreira said. “I think that’s why I connected to the material so much, even though my circumstances are so different from the world of the film.”

According to a press release, Sky Ferreira’s long-awaited album Masochism is “now set for launch.”
