Demo Available Now for Lovecraftian Sci-Fi Turn-Based Strategy Game ‘Starless Abyss’

Mixing Lovecraftian horror with turn-based tactical sci-fi action, Konafa Games and publisher No More Robots have released the demo for their cosmic horror deckbuilder Starless Abyss. “Since the beta, we’ve been working hard behind-the-scenes implementing your feedback, fixing pesky bugs, and adding quality of life improvements, so now you can give the demo a play and see for yourself what we’ve been working on!”

In Starless Abyss, you take on the role of a Proxima—a person awoken from stasis with one simple mission: destroy the eldritch Outer Gods before they consume the universe. Armed with a fleet of ships and an ever-growing deck of powerful cards, you’ll fight through relentless cosmic horrors while collecting artifacts and upgrading your abilities. Ultimately, you must decide whether to resist the creeping madness… or embrace it.

The demo allows players to battle through Acts 1 and 2, commanding a fleet against the horrors of the abyss. You’ll start as Lucid Proxima, a battle-hardened ex-soldier with a tactical edge, and later unlock Silo, a Proxima whose brain has been preserved in a jar, now piloting a single powerful ship. You’ll also be able to experiment with different factions, craft devastating combos, and wield sanity-shattering Ritual Cards.

Starless Abyss aims to release on Steam later this year.
