Film Review: Masks (Short Film)

Synopsis:

A husband draws his wife from a long-standing catatonic state by having her wear a series of increasingly disturbing masks.

It’s a dark and stormy spooky night. What a perfect night to continue my reviews, and watching some of the best short films, and feature films I’ve seen in a while. I’m currently watching MASKS. We meet a woman and all of her masks. If this doesn’t reflect real life, I don’t know what else could possibly reflect human beings, and the need to hide feelings from other. But, let’s be realistic, this is a horror movie, you know this is going to go wild in one way or another.

MASKS was written, and directed by Andre LeBlanc. Anna’s (Cindy Dolenc) husband Tim Harris (Kenny Johnston) is trying his best to bring his wife out of this catatonic, sort of gone state she is in. Livia Trevino portrays Sheila, a nurse who tries to help but is sent home.

The psychological aspect of MASKS is unnerving. I love films that make you think, that make you question humanity. The way we all go through things in life, and how we either heal or go darker towards the edge in life, Andre LeBlanc brought the creepiness with MASKS.

I also wound up watching THEY WATCH, another creepy film on the Vimeo channel, and WOW! Go watch it!
