Micaela Soler Astorga, known to the world as Micky Soler, was born in Hanau am Main, Germany, into a vibrant Spanish family. With a degree in Journalism from the esteemed University of Seville’s Faculty of Information Sciences, she has carved a remarkable path through the media landscape, leaving her mark on major daily newspapers such as Ceuta Información, Diario de Cádiz, La Voz de Almería, and El Correo de Andalucía. But she didn’t stop there—her literary prowess extends into the pages of celebrated cultural magazines like La Tregua, Sobreverbos (both from Granada), RE-VOLVER, and Seville’s legendary GALLO DE VIDRIO.
Micky is a true artist at heart, expressing her creativity through drawing, theater, and—above all—literature. Her passion for storytelling ignited at an astonishingly young age, leading her to write her first novel, It Happened in Kansas City, at just 12 years old. Since then, she has co-authored works in Young Writers of the XXI Century and contributed poetry to the lyrical anthology Poetas del Encuentro.
Her love for the stage took her to the ODISEA theater group in San Fernando (Cádiz), where she performed in numerous productions. Then, in the year 2000, Micky embarked on an exciting journey to the United Kingdom, where she spent years enriching both her professional and personal life. Today, she seamlessly navigates between the UK and Spain, shaping her experiences into narratives that capture life before and during the pandemic.
Since 2020, she has been a driving force behind Madrid’s literary publication Open Windows Magazine. In 2021, she launched and now spearheads OriGinaL MagaZine, a groundbreaking bilingual digital magazine available in English and Spanish. It’s not just a magazine—it’s a bold cultural hub that celebrates art, literature, theater, cinema, fashion, music, and photography. Through its pages, OriGinaL MagaZine unites visionaries, creators, and intellectuals from Spain, Latin America, the UK, and the U.S.A., pushing the boundaries of artistic expression while championing diversity and inclusion.
