Movie Review: Blood Bitch Baby (Blu-ray)Blood Bitch Baby (Blu-ray) Movie Review by Matt Boiselle

Journeyman Director Donald Farmer’s fever-dream riddled “Blood Bitch Baby” has just been released on Blu-ray from Blood Sick Productions, and you might want to keep the little ones’ eyes away from the scree if you ever decide to fire this one up in your player. Stand by as I sanitize (or don’t) my dissection tools to cut this one up and throw away the rotted parts.

The movie centers on Bathory herself (Jessa Jupiter Flux), as she’s somehow managed to sustain her existence since the 17th century (must be all that fresh crimson), and we track her all the way to present time, as filthy and repugnant as it is. She opts to turn her attention towards Jenny (Angel Bradford), granting her demonic powers – the decision to do so backfires as Jenny utilizes her new-found power to take umbrage against her physically and mentally abusive boyfriend. What happens next is only in true Farmer-fashion – lots of blood, lots of insanity, and a whole new generation of viewers saying “what the hell is going on here?” Aside from the obviously low-budget looks and abbreviated runtime (68 minutes), the movie is a lot of fun with some notable performances (i.e. Mel Heflin as Iris), and the gore is practical as the day is long, and that made this hound extremely happy with the results.

The movie is currently up for pre-order on MVDShop.com (May 12th release date), and looks good for a non-budgeted presentation on Blu-ray, and a small sprinkling of bonus material should appease fans of Farmer’s work.
