Outlandermay have ended its run earlier this year, but could Outlander: Blood of My Blood further explore one plot introduced in the final episodes surrounding Fergus Fraser (César Domboy)?
As viewers will recall,Outlander‘s episode “Muskets, Liberty, and Sauerkraut” revealed that Fergus was allegedly the son of the Comte St. Germaine (Stanley Weber), as Percy Wainwright (Michael Lindall) revealed he was being propositioned to accept the Comte’s inheritance to help grow a French colony in the Americas.
Fergus had noted that a bastard couldn’t accept a legitimate inheritance, but Percy handed over a secret document that hinted at the marriage between his apparent parents, the Comte and a woman named Amelie Beauchamp. A plot plucked from the pages of Diana Gabaldon‘s books, the origins of Fergus’s parentage certainly raise intrigue, considering we know Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) maiden name is Beauchamp, and she can trace her lineage back to a noble French family.

WhileOutlander killed Fergus in a printshop fire, opting to give Marsali (Lauren Lyle) the chance to accept the inheritance to protect their family financially, who is to say his story is over for good? IfOutlander: Blood of My Blood were to carry on in a direction that would put Jamie (Sam Heughan) or Claire’s parents in the path of these aforementioned characters or their ancestors, it’s possible that some answers surrounding Fergus’s relation to the Beauchamps could be uncovered.
The revelation or further exploration could also reveal a biological connection between Claire and her adoptive son, Fergus, as he could very well be one of her ancestors, family tree-wise. With the connective tissue still tethering both shows together, it feels like there’s plenty of opportunity to include an answer or confirmation regarding the Beauchamp family line, both past and future.
ShouldBlood of My Blood confirm the theory, it would add a layer of sentimentality if Claire were to have helped raise her blood relative with Jamie.
