Born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa on August 1, 1979, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jason’s heritage is as rich and diverse as his career. With a Native Hawaiian and Samoan father and a German, Irish, and Native American mother from Iowa, he was raised in Norwalk, Iowa by his mom, Coni, a photographer, while his father Joseph worked as a painter.
🌍 Global Spirit, Local Beginnings At just 16, Jason set out on a bold path—traveling through Japan, Australia, Mexico, Morocco, and Paris before returning to Hawaii. That adventurous streak paid off when he beat out thousands to land the lead role in Baywatch Hawaii, marking his TV debut.
