Ambassador Jeannette Matta is an Internationally Recognized Human Rights Advocate

Ambassador Jeannette Matta is an internationally recognized human rights advocate, global leader, and humanitarian whose work spans diplomacy, leadership development, and the protection of vulnerable communities across the world. Known for her unwavering commitment to justice and human dignity, she has dedicated her life to empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and advancing human rights through education, advocacy, and international collaboration.

As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Miel y Canela Foundation, Ambassador Matta leads a mission-driven organization committed to protecting human dignity and uplifting the most vulnerable members of society. Through initiatives that address human trafficking prevention, domestic violence awareness, immigration education, and youth empowerment, the foundation has become a beacon of hope for countless individuals seeking safety, opportunity, and dignity. Under her leadership, the organization has developed programs that educate communities on their rights while building pathways toward self-sufficiency, resilience, and leadership.

Ambassador Matta is also the Founder of the International Institute of Leadership & Strategic Management, an institution dedicated to preparing principled leaders equipped to address the complex challenges of today’s world. The institute provides advanced leadership training rooted in governance, diplomacy, human rights education, and ethical decision-making. Through these programs, emerging leaders, professionals, and youth are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to lead with integrity and purpose while promoting democratic values and human dignity.

Extending her global vision further, Ambassador Matta established the Global Integration Alliance (GIA), an international platform that connects leaders, organizations, and institutions committed to advancing cooperation across borders. Through GIA, she works to foster partnerships that strengthen global leadership, promote human rights awareness, and create collaborative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges.

Ambassador Matta’s work in human rights education and advocacy has earned her international recognition. She serves as the Director of Global Bilingual Education and Outreach for the United States Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (USIDHR) in Washington, D.C., where she leads initiatives that expand human rights education to diverse communities worldwide. In this role, she works to ensure that individuals across cultures and languages have access to the knowledge and tools necessary to defend and uphold fundamental human rights.

Her commitment to education as a catalyst for change has led to the creation of powerful initiatives designed to transform lives. Among them is the Immigration Justice Movement, a program dedicated to educating migrant communities about their rights, responsibilities, and pathways through the immigration process. As an experienced immigration paralegal, Ambassador Matta combines legal knowledge with human rights principles to guide individuals toward stability, empowerment, and dignity in their new communities.

Another cornerstone of her work is the Unbreakable Women Global Initiative; a transformative movement focused on empowering women and girls to rise above adversity and become advocates for justice and leadership within their communities. Through education, mentorship, and advocacy, this initiative equips women with the confidence, knowledge, and tools necessary to defend their rights and uplift others. Ambassador Matta firmly believes that when women are empowered, entire communities are strengthened.

Youth development is also central to her mission. Through specialized programs within her organizations, young people are trained to become Human Rights Ambassadors and future global leaders. These programs emphasize the principles of dignity, equality, leadership, and responsibility, helping youth develop the skills needed to shape a more just and peaceful world.

Academically accomplished and deeply committed to lifelong learning, Ambassador Matta holds two Master’s degrees—a Master of Business Administration from Stratford University and a Master of Public Administration from Almeida University. Her academic background in both business and public administration provides the strategic and governance expertise that supports the global initiatives she leads today.

A multilingual leader, Ambassador Matta bridges cultures and communities, ensuring that language is never a barrier to justice, education, or opportunity. Her ability to communicate and collaborate across diverse communities has strengthened international partnerships and expanded the reach of her humanitarian efforts.

Throughout her career, Ambassador Matta has remained guided by a simple yet powerful principle: that every human being deserves dignity, opportunity, and protection under the universal values of human rights. Her work reflects an unwavering belief that education, leadership, and compassion are the foundations of lasting change.

Today, Ambassador Jeannette Matta continues to build global movements that empower individuals, protect the vulnerable, and inspire the next generation of leaders. Through her organizations, international partnerships, and humanitarian initiatives, she stands at the forefront of a growing global effort to create a more just, compassionate, and united world—one where human rights are not merely ideals but lived realities for all.
