Saban Films has presented the official trailer for American Carnage this afternoon, which features a cast led by fan-favorite Scream 2022 and “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega.
The “twisted thriller-comedy” comes to theaters, On Demand and Digital on July 15, 2022. You can watch the official trailer for director Diego Hallivis‘s American Carnage below.
The film has been rated “R” for “some disturbing violence and gore,” a bit of which is on display in this first trailer. American Carnage looks to be blend “social thriller” aspects with the full-on horror mayhem of something like The Faculty, which should make for a fun blend.
“After a governor issues an executive order to arrest the children of undocumented immigrants, the newly detained youth are offered an opportunity to have their charges dropped by volunteering to provide care to the elderly. Once inside the eldercare facility, the volunteers discover the governor and the facility’s supervisor have cooked up a horrifyingly depraved conspiracy that endangers the young and the old in this twisted thriller-comedy.”
Jorge Lendeborg Jr, Jenna Ortega, Allen Maldonado, Bella Ortiz, Jorge Diaz, Yumarie Morales, and Catherine McCafferty star, with Brett Cullen and Eric Dane also in the cast.
American Carnage was written by The Hallivis Brothers.
