Devonté Hynes Releases Soundtrack for Gia Coppola’s ‘Mainstream’

Devonté Hynes aka Blood Orange has released his original score for Gia Coppola’s new film Mainstream. The film stars Maya Hawke and Andrew Garfield and debuted in theaters yesterday (May 7). Stream the soundtrack, out now on Milan Records, below.

“I love everything Dev makes,” Gia Coppola said in a statement (via Pitchfork). “For Mainstream, I felt he really tapped into the many emotions you weave through when trying to coexist in this new digital world, yet still keeping it classic.”

Hynes previously collaborated with Coppola for the 2013 teen drama Palo Alto. Last year, he released the soundtrack for HBO’s coming-of-age series We Are Who We Are, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Hynes’ last LP as Blood Orange was 2018’s Negro Swan.
