Madmind’s VR Version of ‘Succubus’ Banned From Steam

With Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened arriving later this week, Frogwares has released the game’s launch trailer, which as you might expect, contains plenty of Lovecraft vibes to get Cthulhu fans excited.

Touted as a “full remake and substantial rewrite” of their 2006 title, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened pits the titular Holmes and his faithful sidekick Dr. Watson against a nefarious cult that worships the eldritch god Cthulhu, and are attempting to bring about an ancient prophecy. What seems like a straightforward case of a missing person quickly spirals into a web of conspiracies.

The story is a creative re-imagining of what traumatic and sanity-breaking experiences the young detectives could have endured at this crucial point in their relationship. Memories, secrets, and scars that would go on to shape them into the famous yet flawed detective duo the world knows them for.

The game will take the detective duo across 4 locations – Victorian London, a Swiss psych ward, the New Orleans bayous, and the Scottish Highlands – as they try to separate reality from the supernatural while trying to put a stop to the cult.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened will launch on April 11 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
