‘Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster’ Now Available on PC, Consoles [Trailer]

Just in case you’ve been away for the past few months, Capcom has been working on a remaster of their 2006 cult classic Dead Rising. The result, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, “practically a remake” according to Capcom, is out today digitally on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series.

This deluxe remaster of Dead Rising brings the frenzied action, over-the-top combat and compelling storyline of the original to modern audiences with the power of Capcom’s RE Engine. Players now control journalist Frank West as he carves, blasts and shopping carts his way through hordes of zombies in up to 4K resolution with a 60 FPS frame rate, while also taking a spin with new costumes, added voice lines, more user-friendly controls, and much more.

And if you’re new to the series entirely, that’s cool. Here’s the rundown: you are Frank West, a freelance journalist (who’s covered wars, you know). When the town of Willamette, Colorado finds itself put under quarantine by the U.S. army, Frank smells a scoop and heads to the town via helicopter to investigate. Frank soon discovers the reason behind the quarantine: the town has been overrun by zombies. Landing at the only mall in town, Frank must find out the truth behind this incident before it’s too late.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster brings a horde of new features to the zombie paradise action, including:

  • Improved Graphics: Experience Willamette Parkview Mall being overrun by hordes of zombies like never before in up to 4K resolution with a 60 FPS frame rate!
  • Updated Character Models: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster introduces new, high-end character modeling for Frank West, the unhinged Psychopaths, NPCs like Brad, Jessie, Isabela, and the beloved Madonna, survivors of the outbreak, and the seemingly endless waves of zombies!
  • Expanded Language Support!: For the first time ever, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster comes fully packed with voiceovers for all characters in nine different languages, including English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Castilian Spanish, and Russian! The game will also have subtitles across 14 languages, including the aforementioned nine, plus Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Polish, and Arabic*!
  • 3, 2, 1…Cheese!: Various photo filters like Black and White, Sepia, Vintage, Pixel Art, and more have been added to the game’s photo feature so players can flex their creative muscles as the best zombie-hunting photojournalist in the biz.
  • Quality-of-(Undead) Life Improvements: Move while aiming! Customize your action shots! Auto-save! And a ton more!

A physical version of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is due out in November.
