Rumour: ‘Metal Gear Solid’ to be Remade (Again), Headed to PC And PS5

With that Metal Gear Solid movie still in development, and with Konami being, well, Konami, take this rumour (and it’s a big one) with a truckload of salt.

According to YouTube channel RedGamingTech, which admittedly specializes in hardware news, but has been known to provide some accurate leaks in the past, they have received word from their sources that Konami is in the process of remaking Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation 5 and the PC. Not only that, but Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4 are also getting touch-ups in the form of remasters. It’s not clear as to whether they’re coming to PS5 as well, or whether Konami is just giving them PC releases.

To add even more intrigue, as reported by Gematsu, the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has rated the original Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for PC.

Again, this is all speculation, with nothing coming from Konami or Sony regarding this. Furthermore, some of this might also be a reaction to the news of Microsoft scoring the purchase of Bethesda earlier this week, and with people online clamouring for Sony to do something as audacious in response.

We’ll have to see what transpires, but as we’ve seen, the strange do happen once in a while.
