Nickelodeon’s “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” Season 2 Title Revealed as “Curse of the Shadows” [Trailer]

Nickelodeon released today the first footage from their second season of “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”, the beloved horror anthology series that returns with a fresh look at the Midnight Society. In addition, the teaser revealed the official title as “Curse of the Shadow”, which is in reference to the newest villain known simply as “Shadowman”.

In season two, which will consist of an expanded six episodes…

This new group of kids tell a terrifying tale about a curse that has been cast over their small seaside town, haunted by an all-new villain named the Shadowman.

The newest members of the Midnight Society include: Bryce Gheisar (The Astronauts, Wonder), Arujun Athalye, Beatrice Kitsos (Child’s Play, iZombie), Malia Baker (The Baby-Sitters Club), Dominic Mariche (The Christmas Yule Blog, A Gift to Cherish) and Parker Queenan (Party of Five, Andi Mack).

Season one of the reimagined limited series, which aired across three hour-long episodes in October 2019, saw a different Midnight Society group of kids enter the Carnival of Doom to face off against its evil ringmaster, Mr. Tophat.

“Are You Afraid of the Dark?” season two premieres in 2021 on Nickelodeon.

The season is written by JT Billings (Beware That Girl, Charming), who also serves as co-executive producer and showrunner.
